Illinois state senators Andy Manar of Bunker Hill and Martin Sandoval of Chicago will travel the state this month and in April to hear what kind of infrastructure needs taxpayers have in their communities.
The senators have scheduled five public hearings to compile a wish list for a statewide capital construction plan. Manar is chairman of a Senate appropriations committee and Sandoval is head of the Transportation Committee, The Associated Press reports.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker has said he wants a multibillion-dollar construction program to rebuild roads, bridges, colleges and other infrastructure in the state..
The first hearing occurred on March 4 at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Morris University.

- 1 p.m. Monday, March 18 – Decatur Public Library, 130 N. Franklin St., Decatur
- 3 p.m. Monday, April 8 – Bradley University, Peplow Pavilion inside the Hayden-Clark Alumni Center, 1501 W. Bradley Ave., Peoria
- 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 – Bilandic Building, 160 N. LaSalle St., Chicago
- 1 p.m. Monday, April 22 – Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgi
